Who Can Vote?

To vote in Montana, you must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be 18 years of age or older on or before Election day
• Be a Montana resident for at least 30 days before the next election

Voter registration: In Montana, voters can register up to noon the day before Election Day. The deadline for regular registration is 30 days before any election. If you miss that deadline, you can still register and vote in the election by accessing the late registration services at the Missoula County Elections Center. ID requirements at the polls: All voters will be required to show one form of identification at the polls on Election Day.  Acceptable forms of identification are:

• Driver's License
• Military ID Card
• MT State ID
• Tribal Photo ID
• US Passport
• MT Concealed Carry Permit

Who Cannot Vote?

You cannot vote in Montana if:

• You are a convicted felon serving a sentence in a penal institution (however, if you have finished serving your sentence, your voting rights are restored). Check with your county Election Office to make sure you are still registered.
• You have been judged in a court of law to be of unsound mind.
