September 9, 2025 Municipal Primary Candidate Filings on the Ballot
All active and provisionally registered voters who live in the City of Missoula will receive a ballot for the mayoral race. In addition, Wards 2, 3, and 6 will each have a city council member race. View the candidates who have filed for these races here. This is a reference document only. Questions regarding candidate platforms or initiatives must be directed to the candidate.
All filings and the appropriate filing fee must be submitted to the Missoula County Elections Office at 140 N. Russell St. before the close of candidate filing. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at 406-258-4751.

A person seeking to become a write-in candidate for an office in any election shall file a write-in declaration of intent with the local elections office or other approved agency listed in MCA 13-10-211.
Candidates filing for local positions, such as City, County, School and Special District seats, must file through the Missoula County election office. Click here to view current Boards and Community Council information.
Each candidate for office must affirm when filing that they meet (or will meet within constitutional and statutory deadlines) the qualifications prescribed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and the State of Montana.
Candidates should refer to the Commissioner of Political Practices for candidate financial reporting information and forms to ensure their name appears on the ballot.

Campaign Sign Complaint Form and Packet - Found a campaign sign in violation of local ordinances? Read through our campaign sign packet and determine if the complaint is valid. If valid, complete the form on the first page and return it to either City or County zoning offices, or simply submit to the Elections Office.
