Road naming and ranging is done in accordance with the Missoula County Public Works regulations and the Missoula County 9-1-1 Center requirements.

To begin the process of naming a new or existing road located within Missoula County and outside the Missoula city limits, please:

1. Complete the road name application form.
2. Verify that the chosen road name is unique.
   • Refer to the USPS Valid Road Name Suffixes Document.
3. Submit the application to Missoula County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division.
